Terms of Service

Last updated: September 2026

1. What this service is

Upgrade Decoder (“the service”) is a self-help calculator and document tool operated by Upgrade Decoder LLC (Edit before launch). It models the cost of phone upgrade options using seeded example values and generates template letters. The service is not a law firm, financial adviser, tax adviser, insurance product, or carrier, and no attorney, advisory, or fiduciary relationship is created by your use of it.

2. No professional advice; no guarantees

All outputs — total-cost estimates, forfeit amounts, resale values, letters — are informational estimates based on the inputs you provide and on seeded rules dated as-of September 2026 with confidence labels. We do not guarantee any outcome, savings, or credit posting. Carrier promotions change without notice; the carrier's official promo page and your signed agreement always govern. You are responsible for verifying any number before acting on it.

3. Accounts and acceptable use

You must provide a valid email address and a password of at least eight characters, and you are responsible for keeping your credentials secure. You may not use the service to generate letters that contain information you know to be false, to harass any party, or to attempt to obtain credits through misrepresentation. We may suspend accounts that abuse, overload, or attempt to compromise the service.

4. Purchases and billing

The Upgrade Report is a one-time purchase of $14 that grants one report credit. Credit Guard is a $4/month subscription managed through Stripe; entitlements are recorded in our database and enforced server-side. Subscriptions renew monthly until canceled via the customer portal or by contacting support. Refunds are handled per the Refund Policy.

5. Intellectual property

The service, its engines, copy, and visual assets are the property of the operator. Letters you generate are yours to use, edit, and send. You may not republish the engines or scrape the service.

6. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator's total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid to us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for carrier or Apple decisions, credit postings, trade-in appraisals, or any consequential damages.

7. Changes and contact

We may update these terms; material changes will be noted on this page with a new “last updated” date. Questions: support@your-domain.com (Edit before launch).
